The Stardust Grail

I was on the hunt for a book that had adventure, mystery and a dash of existential dread. That's when I remembered that I've been wanting to read The Stardust Grail for a while. And it absolutely delivered what I was looking for. At its core, The Stardust Grail is a heist story. But it is also so much more than that. Yume Kitasei has created a rich, sci-fi universe full of surprises, where the characters, despite all their good intentions, can never be quite sure if they're on the right side of history. I recommend it for fans of moving, weird stories with strong characters and memorable worlds, like those written by Becky Chambers, Martha Wells, and Jeff Vandermeer. As for myself, I'll be off reading Yume Kitasei's debut novel, The Deep Sky, and anxiously awaiting her 2025 release, Saltcrop.
