I think that I was anxious for BJs story but in the end I wasn't even in the headspace to know how much exactly. Shattered Truths is very well written and from both POVs (BJ and Winter). It's so well that I flight through the pages. The story is Ängste, yes, but so fantastic written with all the emotions. When you're so invested in a live story you can't even let it down a bit, that's how I'd been with this book. I read the ebook and heard the audiobook so this review is going to be a little longer than the most expected by me. BJ had always been the guy I wanted to get to know more about. He's always had the right words and advices to give. Silent to an extent but when he opens his mouth always accurate and on point. He knew about everything and anyone. But as always (in my experience) this people know it all about everyone on their radar except themselves. So this had been funny. Even when he was clueless he'd had clues. Really! This guy had it all figured out in one way or another, at least he's having the best friends who give him all the clues he need in the shortest time because he is the best friend anyone needs. BJ had some little issues within this book but he manages them well because he has the best people around him. He'd made some progress but when you're nearly perfect at the beginning there couldn't be so much more to take care on that part. Love him. Best character ever (since Violett). Let's talk about Winter, the girl who made all the progress in this book. Not because she was bad, but because all her circumstances where exactly this kind of trouble. There's a lot mentioned that make it more understandable (not going deeper into this subject as it might be triggering but let's say her house and family environment weren't the best to live in). I like how Winter manages to break free of old patterns and how she get able to trust someone else in her life and to fight for her wishes and dreams and get the guy. It isn't easy to overcome this but I could clearly feel and see the transformation she went through the book. I was always present in this book and had all the emotions. And yes it's spicy, but I still think it wasn't that much. (Who will be the way?) There are some little cameos of previous Helena Hunting books and even the other protagonists of the lies, hearts & truths series. Let just open this bubble up, there had been some other tensions with other characters within this book... Is it possible for us readers to get a story about Quinn? Lovey? Rose? And the mysterious "Vampire" who's always appearing randomly? Just giving ideas for future books. Please? Non native English readers: It's easy to follow the story and there aren't much words you need to look up. Audiobook: There are two narrators one female for Winters POV and one male for BJs POV. I felt the voices perfect for Winter and BJ. I do still have that goosebumps up whenever the male narrator speaks. It's wow. I could follow both narrators well. Information for non native listeners: You could follow the narration easily. They speak slow and accurately. Conclusion Love this book very much and cannot wait if we could get more about the second generation of the puck-series. Infos: Shattered Truths is the third book in the lies, hearts & truths series and is an angsty, spicy, standalone new adult romance. Each book can be read individually but I strongly recommend to read them in Order. To be fair, she came out of nowhere. I flirted with her, and she flipped me off and disappeared into the woods on her bike. But she left me a a single hockey skate. Seemed to me that divine intervention shouldn’t be ignored. She was my icy Cinderella and I would be her Prince Not-So-Charming. Winter was more than just a sassy, badass hockey-playing hottie. She’s stuck in a prison of a life. And I’m the perfect escape. Neither of us expected to fall. Or for the truth to shatter us.
