There are enough villains with psychological problems - the drives and motives for their actions vary. The work is also peppered with corrupt intrigue on the part of the police. It is soon clear who the main bad person is, even the answer to the main motive for all the continuous criminal activities remains until the end, which ends rather unexpectedly. The book is easy to read in English, even for people without English as a native language.
