To Damien Palmer, the request seemed pointless. The police had found Heather Burnston standing over the body of her husband. The kitchen was covered in his blood and she was still holding the murder weapon when the police knocked the door down. Yet she protested to her solicitor, John Manning, that she was not guilty. So it was that one morning in early spring, Damien Palmer decided to accept the solicitor's request to investigate this hopeless case. As Palmer began his enquiries, he could not have anticipated that he would be seduced by a scheming former model, nor could he have expected the threatening intrusion into his private life. Rite of Death brings Palmer into direct conflict with a dangerous murderer and a sinister group that will stop at nothing to protect their sordid interests. As Palmer pursues his enquiries the sleazy machinations of a group that call themselves 'Corpus Eros' come to play very much in the foreground of his attentions. Can Palmer unravel the true meaning behind the Rite of Death before there is another murder?
