"David Ives: A Story of St. Timothy's" by Arthur Stanwood Pier explores the formative experiences of a young man at preparatory school. This juvenile fiction classic delves into themes of friendship, character development, and the challenges of adolescence within the setting of a rigorous boarding school environment.
Set against the backdrop of St. Timothy's, the story offers a glimpse into the social and academic pressures faced by students preparing for higher education, with an implied path towards institutions like Harvard University. The narrative touches on sports and recreation as elements of school life, highlighting their role in shaping the boys' understanding of teamwork and personal growth. Meticulously prepared for print republication, this edition preserves the timeless quality of Pier's storytelling, making it a valuable addition to any collection of classic juvenile fiction. It is a story of coming-of-age that resonates with readers of all ages. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
