This book aims to report on the universe of refuge in the city of Rio de Janeiro, analysing the socio-economic and cultural factors that permeate the movement of entry and permanence of this population in the municipality. It mainly addresses issues related to human rights, while at the same time questioning their sometimes abstract existence, a factor that hinders the integration of refugees and immigrants into society, increasing the existing divisions between them and the nation-state. An attempt was made to understand the places occupied by displaced peoples in this new territoriality, which privileges the end of commercial and economic limitations to the detriment of the flow of human life itself.
