Progress was slow, with Fitzgerald completing his first draft following a move to the French Riviera.

Unglaublich spannendes Buch welches den Zeitgeist der Roaring Twenties perfekt widergibt und den Leser in diese Zeit zurückversetzt. Authentisch geschrieben und mit einer Sprache die fesselt, legt man The Great Gatsby nicht mehr zur Seite, ehe man auf der letzten Seite angelangt ist, nur um dann nochmals von Vorn zu beginnen...

Das Geschehen beginnt damit, dass Ruth eine Unterhaltung mit ihrem Vater führt, der ihr dazu rät, sich von ihrem Mann zu trennen. Der Hintergrund: Ihr Mann liebt sie nicht und ist anscheinend nur hinter ihrem Geld her. Zudem unterhält er eine Geliebte.
Daraufhin unternimmt Ruth eine längere Zugfahrt mit dem Blue Train, um ihren eigenen Geliebten zu treffen. Jedoch wird diese Fahrt ihr zum Verhängnis und das große Rätselraten um den Mörder beginnt.
Mir persönlich hat die Geschichte sehr gut gefallen – und das lag nicht nur an Hercule Poirot, der zur Unterstützung bei der Aufklärung herbeigerufen wurde.
Lange Zeit habe ich gerätselt, welche der Personen den Mord begangen haben könnte und wer von ihnen auch noch das teure Collier gestohlen hat.
Die Charaktere sind selbst wieder sehr anschaulich beschrieben, sodass auch der Leser bald seine Lieblinge haben wird und andere Personen, die einem nicht so sympathisch erscheinen.
Die Story fand ich insgesamt auch sehr spannend, zwischendurch aber auch etwas verwirrend geschrieben. Evtl. lag es an den eigenen Gedanken und Ideen über den oder die Täter oder am Geschehen selbst.
