ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
An illustrated journey through the lives of more than 70 animals that inhabit the Amazon.
Every living being is connected to the others and depends on them to survive. The rainforest needs the eagle, the piranha, the cedar tree, the cicada, and each and every creature that lives there. In the same way, humans need the rainforest: its future is also ours.
This book about the Amazon, aimed at readers ages 5 and up, invites you to discover the extraordinary web of life that sustains one of the planet's most important ecosystems. Inside you'll find over seventy illustrated animals, each accompanied by clear and accessible information about their names, habitat, diet, and conservation status.
The content of the book is based on rigorous research carried out by Silvia Lazzarino, including trips to the Amazon where the authors observed, listened to, and closely studied many of the living beings that inhabit this territory. From this fieldwork, Micaela Chirif creates short and sensitive texts that reveal unexpected secrets of each animal, blending scientific knowledge with imagination and a deeply respectful view of nature.
The illustrations, created by Loreto Salinas, were originally hand-painted in gouache, bringing a unique visual richness full of color, detail, and texture. Together with the texts and scientific information, these images invite readers to approach the Amazon with curiosity, wonder, and awareness of the importance of caring for it.
