By summing all ecosystem areas required to produce the consumer goods and services included in the annual consumption basket and multiplying this by the number of inhabitants, the population's ecological footprint for that area is calculated. The total amount of greenhouse gases generated through everyday life and work is referred to as the carbon footprint. The subject of this research is the examination of knowledge related to ecological and carbon footprints, with the aim of raising awareness about preventing environmental destruction and degradation, promoting sustainable waste management and responsible use of natural resources, and ensuring the protection and survival of living beings and the planet as a whole. The target group consists of students from the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences in Jagodina, Serbia. For the purposes of this study, a survey method will be applied. The research instrument is a closed-ended questionnaire containing structured questions with predefined answer options. The collected data will be processed using appropriate statistical software, and the results will be presented and discussed accordingly.
