Advanced Directives in Dementia Care: Cross-National Examinations

Veselin (Luka) Mitrović holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade. Mitrović’s research interests include sociology, bioethics, and disaster studies. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Sociological Research, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. In 2020, he served as Acting Director of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade. He is also a member of the commission responsible for evaluating the scientific research of scholars at the Institute of Social Sciences. Mitrović serves as a series editor at the Institute of Social Sciences and as series editor of the Disaster Sociology series at Vasile Goldiș Western University of Arad.

Olga Riklikienė is a nurse and professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania. Her research focuses on spiritual well-being and spiritual care among diverse patient populations, women’s mental health and birth-related trauma, missed nursing care, and the clinical education of nursing students. She is a Fellow of the Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, reflecting her longstanding engagement with bioethical scholarship and interdisciplinary approaches to health care. Riklikienė is a co-author of several books, including Empowering the Professionalization of Nurses through Mentorship: Implementation of the CLES Framework in an International Project (Springer, 2018), Spiritual Needs in Research and Practice (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021), and Enhancing Nurses’ and Midwives’ Competence in Providing Spiritual Care (Springer, 2021).

Daniel Sperling is Associate Professor of Bioethics and Head of the Master’s Program in Nursing in the Department of Nursing at the University of Haifa, Israel. He holds an LL.B. and a B.A. in Philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as an LL.M. in Bioethics and an S.J.D. from the University of Toronto. Sperling is the author of three books: Suicide Tourism: Understanding the Legal, Philosophical and Socio-Political Dimensions (Oxford University Press, 2019), Posthumous Interests: Legal and Ethical Perspectives (Cambridge University Press, 2008), and Management of Post-Mortem Pregnancy: Legal and Philosophical Aspects (Ashgate, 2006). He has also published numerous journal articles and book chapters on ethics, law, and bioethics.
