In the aftermath of the stronghold, Ray and his friends should finally be able to turn toward home.Instead, something westward has stopped answering.A path in Ray's sight ends where it should continue. Tall's distant bonds fall strangely quiet and return. Kerry's heart-seed turns toward the same missing direction. Deanna finds an old route mark that seems to point toward an edge that is no longer there.None of the signs proves what happened. Together, they are impossible to ignore. As the four friends make their way toward Third Village, they cross a damaged world still learning what comes after control—and discover that familiar ground can hold unfamiliar wounds. The Wound Beneath the Wet begins a new Magic Lands arc of homecoming, recovery, living magic, and a mystery beneath the places they thought they knew best.
