Dr. Kevin Bouchard is a full professor at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. His research interests mainly relate to the exploitation of artificial intelligence and machine learning for the development of health technologies. He has, among other things, worked on RFID localization, ambient sensing, activity recognition with UWB, wearable technologies, etc. He has co-led several real-world deployments of smart homes for elders with cognitive decline, for individuals with special needs, and for people with chronic diseases. He has published over 160 papers and has been supervising/co-supervising more than seventy graduate students. Finally, he is the director of CYNERGIA an applied research group working with Hydro-Québec the main energy provider of the province of Québec.

Dr. Hubert Kenfack Ngankam is an assistant professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science at the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, and a member of the DOMUS Laboratory. He works in several research areas, including ambient intelligence, ambient assisted living, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, context-awareness, the Internet of things, wireless sensor networks, and multimodal human–machine interaction, with a focus on embedded/edge AI for aging-in-place. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal and conference articles and the developer of the NEARS-Hub telemonitoring platform and the OntoDomus semantic model, which have been deployed in 64 real-life living environments for older adults aged 65 and over and licensed to the IXIA cooperative for commercialization.
