I don’t believe in romance, but fate—and flight delays—keep trying to prove me wrong.
Burnt-out medical sales rep Greer Ellison is done with impractical relationships, and after her long-distance boyfriend makes a romantic airport dash that goes spectacularly wrong, she’s ready to swear off romance altogether. But even with her well-earned pessimism about romance, she can’t seem to escape love, as she repeatedly finds herself smack dab in the middle of other people’s airport grand gestures with fellow frequent flyer, the inexplicably good-natured Teddy Kessler. During one perfect day full of weather delays, sparkling banter, and one wild airport-spa hookup, Greer and Teddy can agree that despite meeting in the worst place at the worst possible time, their connection is undeniable. So they decide to part ways with no phone numbers, no last names, only a promise to meet again in the place where it all began. When neither Greer nor Teddy make it to their planned reunion, she’s certain they’ll never get another chance, until more travel disasters throw Teddy into her path again and again…and again. Could these calamitous encounters just be a series of disastrous coincidences, or could they be the hands of fate?
Told through missed connections, delayed flights, and chance layovers, Greer and Teddy’s connection deepens even as Greer resists the idea of a love built in liminal spaces. But when she’s finally forced to confront the past she’s been avoiding, Greer begins to wonder if some romances really are worth the wait.
