Suzanne's Secret, also known as Il Segraeo Di Susanna, is a one-act interlude play originally written in French by Golisciana in 1911. Enrico Golisciani adapted the play into English. The play is set in a villa in Italy and revolves around the character of Susanna, who is hiding a secret from her husband. The plot thickens when her husband discovers a man's footprints in the garden and accuses Susanna of infidelity. However, the truth is revealed when Susanna's cousin reveals that he was the one who left the footprints after secretly visiting her. The play explores themes of trust, jealousy, and the consequences of assumptions. It is a classic example of early 20th-century Italian theatre and has been adapted and performed in various languages over the years.Translated By Claude Aveling. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
