Raymond Carver's most famous short story collection "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" is held up as the gold standard of what the short story can achieve. Now, for the first time, Carver's original intentions for his work are revealed as the collection is republished minus the drastic cuts made by his editor Gordon Lish, who excised almost 50% of the original material. Certain to excite debate, this is a rare insight into the true aesthetics of a literary giant.
