The Mother's Book of Poetry is a collection of poems compiled by Mrs. Alfred Gatty and first published in 1872. The book is specifically aimed at mothers, with the intention of providing them with a selection of poems that they can read to their children. The poems cover a range of topics, from nature and animals to love and friendship, and are written by a variety of poets, including William Wordsworth, Robert Burns, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The book is divided into sections, each with a different theme, and includes an introduction from Mrs. Gatty, in which she explains the importance of poetry in a child's upbringing. The Mother's Book of Poetry is a charming and timeless collection that is sure to delight both mothers and children alike. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
