My Home in Tasmania: Or Nine Years in Australia is a memoir written by Louisa Anne Meredith in 1853. The book describes her experiences living in Tasmania, Australia for nine years with her husband, Charles Meredith, who was a government official. The memoir is divided into chapters that cover different aspects of her life in Tasmania, including her arrival in Hobart, the landscape and climate of the island, the flora and fauna, and the indigenous people. She also writes about the social life of the colony, her interactions with other settlers, and her travels throughout Tasmania. Throughout the book, Meredith provides vivid descriptions of the natural beauty of Tasmania, including the mountains, forests, and beaches. She also writes about the challenges of living in a remote and isolated place, including the difficulty of obtaining supplies and the dangers of bushfires and floods. My Home in Tasmania: Or Nine Years in Australia is an important historical document that provides insight into the experiences of early settlers in Australia. It is also a valuable resource for anyone interested in the natural history and culture of Tasmania. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
