Palingenesia: The World To Come is a philosophical and theological work written by Lewis Way in 1824. The book explores the concept of palingenesia, which refers to the idea of rebirth or regeneration. Way argues that the world is in need of a new spiritual awakening and that this can only be achieved through a radical transformation of human consciousness. The book is divided into four parts, each of which explores a different aspect of palingenesia. The first part examines the history of the concept, tracing its roots back to ancient Greek philosophy and exploring its development in Christian theology. The second part focuses on the nature of the spiritual transformation that is required for palingenesia to occur, arguing that it involves a radical change in the way that individuals perceive themselves and the world around them. The third part of the book explores the implications of palingenesia for society as a whole. Way argues that a regenerated society would be characterized by greater harmony, justice, and compassion, and that this would be reflected in a more equitable distribution of wealth and resources. Finally, the fourth part of the book explores the role of the individual in bringing about palingenesia, arguing that each person has a responsibility to work towards the transformation of themselves and society as a whole.Overall, Palingenesia: The World To Come is a thought-provoking and challenging work that offers a compelling vision of a world transformed by spiritual awakening. It is a must-read for anyone interested in philosophy, theology, and the nature of human consciousness. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
