Some really strong coming-of-age storeis in here, "Snakes" in particular is fantastic, "Virgins" and "Robert E. Lee is Dead" are very touching as well. The author has a way of capturing slices of life and make them feel like memories you’re not quite sure are real – dreamy, sad, nostalgic and full of feeling. The atmosphere pulls you right in. The rest of the stories were weaker and didn’t leave much of an impression. Overall a mixed bag, but the highs are worth the read.
