I haven’t heard of S.K.Tremayne before, but wanted to give The Icetwins a try. Since it is categorised as a psychological thriller, it caught my interest. The scientific facts woven into the story are interesting and thought-provoking. Apart from that, reading this book felt like a table tennis match. A constant back and forth between who is to blame and which daughter has really died. Once this seems to have settled, it goes into the next set. The author tries to follow different lines to bring back some suspense, only to lose it again in confusion. I usually don’t mind when plots don’t reveal too much too soon, that keeps you guessing and wondering. Here, I came across various possible outcomes, and the one that was used to arrive at the conclusion developed into an open-ended version. Too many questions unanswered for my taste.
