    Great book

    Excellent read, recommendable. Her way of writing keeps permanently the interest on reading the story. The part in New York was a bit short in description, but I guess she wanted to emphasize on the chilhood.

    Außergewöhnlich

    Die Geschichte ist verdammt gut und die Charraktere werden gut beschrieben.Was für andere sehr schlimm und traurig vorkommen mag, sieht Jeanette Walls als Abenteuer und das ist das besondere an diesem Buch.

    Nothing is truly just good or bad, but this book.

    Jeannette's childhood is full of dreams and adventure. She knows, her father will build her a glass castle one day. But in order to live the future everyone in her family dreams of, they must overcome the obstacles of life itself. That alone seems impossible for them. And probably is... Knowing that this isn't fiction but Jeannette Walls' biography makes me cry every time. Through the eyes of her as a child, she guides the reader through her improbable growing-up. Her father, the central figure of everything good and bad that happened in her life, is at the same time relatable as well as a real-life monster. Walls tells the tale of the ugly truth and how one overcomes it with time. One of my all-time favorite reads!
