"Wort und Weisheit" bezeichnen die Eckpunkte des theologischen Denkens von Johannes von Lüpke. In diesem Sinne versammelt die Festschrift Beiträge zu den Themengebieten, auf denen Johannes von Lüpke nach einer Theologie als Weisheit fragt.
So geht es zuerst um das Verständnis von Sprache und Poesie. Hier werden Grundlagen gelegt für Erwägungen zur theologischen Schriftauslegung, die über die historische Rekonstruktion der Textentstehung hinaus fragt. Vom Wort der Schrift her kommt drittens der Mensch in den Blick. Die theologische Anthropologie ist viertens deutlich geprägt durch Impulse aus der Aufklärung, wobei vor allem Hamann und Lessing zu nennen sind. Und zur Weisheit der Theologie gehört nicht zuletzt die reformatorische Einsicht, dass ihr Denken und Forschen vom Wort Gottes zuallererst hervorgerufen wird.

"Word and Wisdom" are the cornerstones of the theological thinking of Johannes von Lüpke. With this in mind, the commemorative publication collects contributions on topics in regard to which Johannes von Lüpke raises the question of a theology of wisdom.
So the first topic section deals with the understanding of language and poetry. Here the foundations are laid for reflections on theological interpretations of the Scriptures that look beyond the reconstruction of the formation of texts. Thirdly, from the perspective of the word of the Scripture human being comes into view. Theological anthropology is, fourthly, clearly influenced by the ideas of Enlightenment, in particular by those of Hamann and Lessing.
