Crying

The book was heartbreaking and beautiful. I'm glad I gave it a chance since I read his other book and didn't really like the way it was written. I wish it was longer to be honest so we could stay with the characters longer, but I guess the shortness of it is the reason why it's so gut-wrenching in the end.

Such singularity moves me.” An achingly beautiful and lyrical masterpiece that you’ll want to read multiple times. Although it’s a short novel, every chapter is immensely powerful and moving.

"It was love, of course."

Ein wunderschöner Coming-of-age Roman über die erste Liebe. Der Autor hat das Buch in einem so poetischen und bezaubernden Schreibstil geschrieben, dass man gefühlt jeden zweiten Satz markieren möchte. Bsp.: "This feeling of love, it transports me, it makes me happy. But it also consumes me and makes me miserable, the way all impossible loves are miserable." Wenn dir Open Water gefallen hat, dann wird dir auch dieses Buch gefallen!

A heartfelt, fragile but tender first love

"(...), but the only thing that matters is that I'm holding on to him, that I'm holding on to him outside." — This coming-of-age novel really took a heartwrenching turn that I did not expect (and was not prepared for-). But apart from that it is beautifully written, with well-portrayed characters one can relate to and though the storyline seems familiar, trust me, it is way more than that..
