Ich habe das Buch, nach vielen Stunden des Lesens, geschlossen. Meine Gedanken wanderten umher und meine Gefühle waren sich uneinig und nach zehn Minuten flossen die Tränen meine Wangen hinunter lol. Ein unglaublich emotionales, berührendes und für mich auch beängstigendes Buch. 6 von 5 Sternen

a book full of yearning

If you feel like you want to be sad just a little bit: please read this book. It's a tale of a turkish man that fell in love with an artist in berlin and after that nothing else in life mattered anymore. He really poured his heart and his soul into this friendship after only seeing a painted portrait of her in an art gallery, because he was so captivated by it. A beautifully written story about two young people, missed hopes and no second chances. Sabahattin Ali definitely wrote himself into the readers heart, leaving a mark wherever his novel made them cry.

white nights but better

whatever dostojewski tried with white nights, sabahattin ali mastered in madonna in a fur coat. the type of yearning that turns into an unhealthy obsession and ends up haunting you for every next step of your life. it was an amazing read but imo not worth 10/10 points but still very close!

es sind immer die Bücher die wenig bis keine Reichweite bekommen die besonders am Herzen ziehen, auf jeder Seite findet man etwas das man unterstreichen kann, es ist poetisch, wehmütig, traurig, deprimierend und sehnsüchtig
