I thougth I was done with Azeroth for good. I guess I am when it comes to the video game. But its lore and its characters still intrigue me.
So I heard the stories about Sylvanas treatment in recent video game history. The controversy around it all. And when I spied this account of her biography, I got interested. And boy did I not get disappointed.
This is probably a must read for any world of warcraft fan. Or at the very least for the countless fans of Sylvanas Windrunner. It’s not a coherent story however, the book depicts her adventures in various stages of her life. Starting with her youth, careless days spent with her family. Jumping to the defence against Arthas Menethil and his undead scourge, chronicling her turning into the Banshee Queen, unlife in service to the Lich King. Her eventual liberation, the founding of the undercity and her leadership of the forsaken.
I don’t think that one could read this book without any previous knowledge. Too much gets left out and several key figures won’t be introduced; e.g. it is expected that one knows about Arthas.
