When one person tells the other that danger is imminent and they then look for a new home with all that such a journey entails, then I think it's a wonderful animal novel. Richard Adams has taken on the fate of rabbits. He describes finding and keeping a new home with all its dangers, with all the friends and memories left behind, with all the new happiness - even if it doesn't always look like it. It's not just a book for children aged 10 and over, even I, as a 58-year-old, really enjoy this book. I also recommend the film of the same name.
