"The Best Man" is a friends-to-lovers-romance by Marie May Carter. Chloe is a young woman living in London, trying her best to manage the problems her family's bakery is facing. She's engaged to the man that supports her financially with the bakery. However, Chloe convinces herself that she's happy with her fiancé until one day changes everything. Andrew is Chloes' best friend and has always been there for her. She can count on him no matter what happens - as well as on that day when she needed him the most. Chloe's had had a crush on him many years ago. She never knew he had loved her for years as well and when they come closer to each other, Chloe's world is turned upside down. I really loved to read "The Best Man". It's a feel-good love story full of tenderness and passion. Especially the words Chloes' Granddad used to say makes yourself think about your own choices. I'm sure from now on I will also try to follow the principle about making the most of each moment. "The Best Man" is a debut that makes me wish to read a lot of more stories by this wonderful author. I'm really looking forward to many more beautiful stories by Marie May Carter.

Eine sehr schöne Kurzgeschichte, romantisch, spannend, spielt in London, macht Lust auf mehr. In Englisch geschrieben, lässt sich sehr gut lesen, auch wenn man nicht soo gut Englisch kann. Ich bin auf jeden Fall auf die nächste Story von dieser Autorin gespannt. Einfach nur toll!

Chloe has been in love with her best friend Andrew from the moment they bumped into each other until he starts dating someone else. She moves on (does she really though?) to find her own happiness with another man who had helped her to to save her family’s bakery. But does she truly love her fiancé? Is Andrew going to end up being her best man at her wedding after all? This book was a very quick and short read but with all the feels. Set in London, it gave me all the sweet and coziness of a friends to lovers, dual POV romance with heartache and hope. I loved the opening quotes too giving the reader a look into the internal thoughts of the characters. My only complain is that it’s not long enough . @authormariemay this is my request to please write a full blown up novel and I’m ready for all heartache you have in store. Bring it on. If you are looking for a cute friends to lovers romance novel that you can enjoy with one sitting, this is the book for you! Not to mention that Andrew is that one friend we all need . Absolutely love this book! It's so well written, the scenes just fly by. It makes me want to travel to London haha. Definitely recommend picking this up, it's a short and sweet read that has everything a romance novel should have! So excited for other upcoming books by this author!

First of all, Friends to Lovers = hell yes!!! So Chloe is your average cute and beautiful girl whose passion is her bakery Chocolate Bliss. Her fiancé is an absolute alphahole and her best friend Andrew has had a crush on her for ages... This sounds like the perfect recipe for a good romance and some drama to me, and yes Marie delivered, with chocolate frosting I might add;)
