Kristian Coates Ulrichsen is a fellow for the Middle East at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy, US. His books include Qatar and the Gulf Crisis (2020), The Gulf States in International Political Economy (2015) and Insecure Gulf: The End of Certainty and the Transition to the Post-Oil Era (2011).

Adel Abdel Ghafar is a fellow and Director of the Foreign Policy and Security program at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, Qatar. Abdel Ghafar's books include The Gulf Cooperation Council at Forty (2022), The European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council (2021) and The Middle East: Revolution or Reform? (2014) among others.

Courtney Freer is Visiting Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Emory University, US.
