Christopher Gist's Journals is a historical book that features the journals of Christopher Gist, an early explorer of the American frontier during the mid-18th century. The book is edited by William M. Darlington and includes historical, geographical, and ethnological notes as well as biographies of Gist's contemporaries. The journals provide a detailed account of Gist's travels through the Ohio Valley, the Appalachian Mountains, and the Great Lakes region, including his interactions with Native American tribes. The book offers a unique perspective on the early American frontier and provides valuable insights into the lives and experiences of early explorers.Contains Gist's account of his surveys for the Ohio Company, 1750This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
