""A Study of Plutarch's Life of Artaxerxes: With Especial Reference to the Sources"" is a historical analysis of the life of Artaxerxes, a Persian king who ruled from 465-424 BC. Written by Charles Forster Smith in 1881, the book examines Plutarch's account of Artaxerxes' life and compares it to other historical sources from the time period. Smith analyzes Plutarch's biases and sources, providing a critical assessment of the accuracy and reliability of his account. The book also explores the political and cultural context of Artaxerxes' reign, including his relationship with Greece and the Persian Empire's internal struggles. Overall, ""A Study of Plutarch's Life of Artaxerxes"" offers a comprehensive and nuanced examination of one of the most important figures in ancient Persian history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
