The book ""Letters and Journals of Samuel Gridley Howe: During the Greek Revolution"" is a collection of personal writings by Samuel Gridley Howe, an American physician, abolitionist, and philanthropist who played a key role in the Greek War of Independence in the early 19th century. The book, published in 1907, provides a firsthand account of Howe's experiences and observations during his time in Greece, including his interactions with prominent figures such as Lord Byron and his efforts to aid the Greek cause through medical assistance and military support. The letters and journals offer a unique perspective on the events of the Greek Revolution and shed light on the role of American volunteers in the conflict. The book is a valuable resource for historians and anyone interested in the history of Greece or the contributions of American volunteers to international conflicts. With A Preface By Mrs. John Lane. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
