Ich fand das Buch sehr gut geschrieben und man wurde direkt in die Geschichte hinein gezogen. Das Englisch ist, wenn es auch teilweise schwierigere Wörter gibt, meistens sehr einfach und gut verständlich geschrieben. Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Buch!

I like to read different books from movies back from my childhood, like Harry Potter, Narnia and now Percy Jackson. To improve my englisch i read it in english. Nice written and very attention grabbing.

If you still haven't read these by now, no matter what age you are, read them before the Disney+ show comes out. These books are packed with enthusiasm and tense action, but also emotional and beautiful little packets of wisdom, all combined into one another with such unparalleled warm wit and humor in every little crevice. Percy's sarcastic inner monologues, kind heart, and humongous impulsiveness will have you endeared, surprised, laughing, worried, yet somehow never frustrated or mad. This guy might be the most likable protagonist and narrator you will ever read. Careful though, after reading these books, you might want him to narrate every story on your bookshelf.

Als Englischstudent lese ich viele Texte in gehobenen Englisch mit vielen Fachbegriffen und älterer Grammatik. Percy Jackson ist ein eher typisches Kinder- und Jugendbuch in Bezug auf den immer wieder aufrecht erhaltenen Spannungsbogen, den Humor und den Schreibstil. Aber genau deswegen hat mir das Buch so gut gefallen. Es war wunderbar mich darin zu vertiefen und beim Lesen abzuschalten. Für jeden der nur mal nebenbei wieder was lesen möchte oder etwas nicht literarisch anspruchsvolles lesen möchte, kann ich Percy Jackson nur empfehlen.

Percy is a normal student through and through, and it isn't his fault that he is a bad student, it's only that he's dyslexic and suffers from ADHD and studying is quite hard for him. And it's surely not his fault that nearly all the teachers hate him, especially his Math teacher, who LITTERALY transforms into a Fury and tries to kill him. But ever since that incident. Percy’s whole life was turned upside down. He found out that the Greek Gods really exist, but not only the Gods, the monsters from the old myths - Cyclopes, Furies, Manticores, etc. - are alive too! And because he is the son of a God - a Demigod -, all those monsters (and sometimes the Gods themselves) are trying to kill him. The only place he should be safe is "Camp Half Blood", a camp for Demigods and Friends. Okay first and foremost: the books are just great, I simply LOVE them. They're exciting, full of suspense, well written and full with Greek mythology, so that you even learn something while reading them.
