Das Buchcover hat mich erst nicht so angesprochen, aber die Leseprobe hatte mich dann faszinierte. Ashley Poston hat einen Liebesroman ganz nach meinem Geschmack geschrieben. Ihr Schreibstil hat mich sofort mitgenommen. Florence‘ wurde in der Liebe bis her enttäuscht. Und glaubt nicht mehr an die Liebe und dass als Ghostwritern für eine bekannte Buchautorin, für die sie die Liebesromane schreibt. Ghost ist das passende Wort für Florence, denn sie kann wie ihr Vater mit Geistern kommunizieren und kann sie sehen. Als ihr Vater verstirbt muss sie zu ihrer Familie ….Trauer und Humor sind sich in diesem Buch sehr nahe. Mal muss man beim lesen herzlich lachen und mal musste ich mir ein paar Tränchen wegwischen. Man ist beim lesen so mitgenommen. Das das die Autorin super hinbekommen. Ich wollte das Buch nicht mehr aus den Händen legen, wollte aber auch nicht das es endet. Super , einfach fürs Herz

This book has been on my TBR forever and I finally got to it. I don’t exactly remember where I saw it first, BookTube or BookTok, but my interest was piqued. It was described as a sad love story, which made me think of Nicholas Sparks immediately, so I kinda put it off for a while. But here I am now, having liked it. “The Dead Romantics” is about Florence, a ghostwriter. And funnily enough, she’s able to see and interact with ghosts. Florence has given up believing in love, but she must write one last book for her contract. She must write one last romance book, but she just doesn’t seem to get the ending right. Before she can finish it though, her mother calls her and tells her that her dad died. He also had the same gift as Florence, which for him was perfect since he was a mortician. Now Florence must return home, into a city where she is known as the wannabe author that failed and ran. But on her first night, she runs into her new agent. A man that should be far away and definitely not a ghost. This book really had two amazing sides. On one hand we have the happiness of Florence as she overcomes her struggles and reunites for good with her family. On the other hand, we get to experience Florence’s grief over first losing her father and then over her new agent. There were also some great plot twists in the end, one of which I really did not see coming. The love story was cute, but the story was more focused on Florence and everything she’s going through, which I really think is not a bad decision.
