Jeanne D'Arc: Maid of Orleans, Deliverer of France is a historical biography written by T. Douglas Murray and first published in 1902. The book tells the story of Joan of Arc, a young French peasant girl who, in the early 15th century, claimed to have received divine visions instructing her to lead the French army against the English during the Hundred Years' War.Murray's biography explores Joan's life in detail, from her humble beginnings in the village of Domr¿¿¿¿¿my to her eventual trial and execution for heresy. The book also delves into the political and religious context of Joan's time, including the ongoing conflict between France and England, the role of the Catholic Church, and the various factions vying for power in both countries.Throughout the book, Murray emphasizes Joan's courage, faith, and unwavering dedication to her mission, as well as the impact she had on French history and culture. He also examines the various myths and legends that have grown up around Joan over the centuries, separating fact from fiction and offering a balanced, nuanced portrait of this iconic figure.Overall, Jeanne D'Arc: Maid of Orleans, Deliverer of France is a detailed and engaging biography that offers readers a fascinating glimpse into one of the most remarkable women in history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
